Books vs Movies

Is it just me....or is anyone else frustrated at how books are be portrayed in movies now?

AHHHHHH!!!!....ok much better....

It seems like more beloved books are being adapted for the big screen every year, and 2013 is no exception.  I can't help but be disappointed with most of them.  I understand that they can only fit so much into a 2 hour time frame, but with all the great material that the authors have provided in their books why do they feel the need to deviate!!!!

Nowadays many of my favorite books are becoming movies.  Initially I am super excited, but it is ALWAYS a major disappointment.

Happily I am ahead of the movie curve.  Most of the books that have resently been released into movies I have already read(I like being ahead of the popularity).  Finding something before it is made into a movie is like finding a hiden gem.

I never knew up until I started working at Barnes and Noble how may books have been made into movies.  With some of these movies I have throughly enjoyed them because I have NOT read the books, and I would like to stay blissfully ignorant.  Sadly I think I might stop seeing many of the latest "book movies".  They choose actors that don't work for the character, or have no personality *cough Kirsten Stewart cough*.

I also believe that certain books shouldn't be made into movies.  Such as, Fifty Shades of Grey, it will literally be a porn.  I also didn't think the series was that great to begin with.  I mean it was a Twilight Fan Fiction before it became this best selling novel.

As they always say...if you love the book, you will hate the movie and vise versa.

"I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book."
